About

The Pest Management Council of the Philippines, Inc. (PMCP) was organized in 1968 and formally launched in 1970 during its first National Conference held at the Central Philippine University in Iloilo City on May 5-8, 1970. Initially, it was known as the Pest Control Council of the Philippines (PCCP) until 1991. The change in name of PCCP to PMCP reflects the change in focus from control to management of agricultural and urban pests. Currently, PMCP is a federation of six societies/associations, namely, Philippine Association of Entomologists, Inc. (PAE), Philippine Phytopathological Society, Inc. (PPS), Weed Science Society of the Philippines, Inc. (WSSP), CropLife Philippines, Inc. (CropLife), Crop Protection Association of the Philippines, Inc. (CPAP), and Pest Control Council of the Philippines, Inc. (PCAP). PMCP members are plant pathologists, entomologists, weed scientists, public and private pest control operators, and sales and technical representatives of the pesticide industries from the Philippines and other countries.
