𝗣𝗔 𝗕𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀

The House Committee on Appropriations deliberated a total of 30 House Bills, including the proposed Philippine Agriculturist Bill (PA Bill), last November 26, 2024, at the House of Representatives. 𝗜𝘁 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗔 𝗕𝗶𝗹𝗹. 𝗔𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀, 𝗶𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗯𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀.

It was earlier reported that PA Bill passed the First Reading session in the lower house last May 22, 2024 as it gained significant attention and support from legislators for sponsorship. Moreover, the 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟱𝟰𝟰 “𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵” 𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗼 𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗲𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗶𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗙𝗲𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗼𝘀, 𝗝𝗿., 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟭𝟬, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰; 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗔 𝗕𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵.

The appropriations provisions of the PA Bill were discussed by Representative Gabriel H. Bordado, Jr. on behalf of Representative Kristine Alexie B. Tutor, Chair of the House Committee on Civil Service and Professional Regulations.

Present during the Committee on Appropriations hearing were Dr. Karen S. Bautista, National President at the Philippine Association of Agriculturists, Inc. (PAA), Dr. Annabelle S. Sarabia, member of the Professional Regulatory Board of Agriculture and Committee Secretary (CommSec), and Mr. Dino Cabrera of the House Committee on Civil Service and Professional Regulations.
