Tamarind Chapter Holds Training-Workshop on CPAR Projects and Process Documentation
The Philippine Association of Agriculturists, Inc. (PAA) – Tamarind Chapter successfully conducted a two-day training-workshop on Writing Project Proposals for Community Participatory Action Research (CPAR) and Process Documentation held at Crown Royale Hotel in the City of Balanga, Bataan last 5-6 September.
The event was targeted for Agriculture Extension Workers (AEWs) to equip them with essential skills in documentation for research projects. Participants engaged in a comprehensive session on project proposal writing, strategies for a successful CPAR, and efficient research conduct.
Ms. Amavel Velasco from DA Bureau of Agricultural Research discussed the CPAR overview and implementing guidelines for availing grants. Dr. Hermogenes M. Paguia, PAA Tamarind Chapter president presented the highlights of the CPAR project in Bataan.
Also invited as resource persons were Engr. Kristine P. Ortega, Director of the University Resilience Center of Bataan Peninsula State University, who spoke about agricultural resilience; and Dr. Rodolfo P. Estigoy, former Division Chief at the Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization, who provided insights for the two-day session on the CPAR Project Proposal Cycle and Process.
Agriculturists and Extensionists delivered their presentations during the second day of the workshop.
The event was well-received by agricultural professionals who appreciated the opportunity for collaborations. The training is expected to significantly improve the quality of community-based agricultural projects and extend the reach and impact of research in local communities.
